He's been busy painting Maurice stuff and the odd ECW pike and shotte block but not much Napoleonic since the Saxon Division was completed. The Backwald Schloss game has reignited his enthusiasm once again!
The Starodub Cuirassiers ride over the horizon to terrify their foes. Duka gallops away in the opposite direction! |
Hello sailor? |
These are old Foundry sculpts and stuffed full of character - note the fellow with bandaged head. |
Command group, these look like veterans. |
Bugler, trumpeter or whatever, that light blue is lovely. |
Zooming in a bit. |
This is an innovation gentlemen - double based elements! What a damn good idea that is! |
The back side of this spanking new 32 strong regiment. An awesome addition to Tony's collection and soon to see action at Bautzen. |
Also new is this command element. These were picked up prepainted by Tony at the Penarrth show and rebased, not quite up to his standards but very passable nonetheless. Quality perry sculpts. |
The rear shot is more flattering strangely! |
I can't wait to be honest.
Sneak preview of the Bautzen table before we deploy - Russian Tony already looking worried! |
Fond regards to all, Jeremy
Love Russian cuirassiers, 1 of my many Napoleonic favourites. Tony has done them proud. Lots of other eye candy on show to!
ReplyDeletePaul I owe you some thanks. You very kindly posted a link from somewhere I stumbled across to our little corner of the internet recently - many thanks, we are all humbled and edified by your recommendation for "eye candy" at Marauder Moments.
ReplyDeleteBest wishes,
Jeremy
Hi Jeremy, whatever it was your very welcome. Love your games and armies. Hope to see some more close ups of your Saxons, I have a good amount on the go at the moment. Can always use more inspiration!
DeleteCuirassiers are simply excellent!
ReplyDeleteCheers for commenting!
DeleteJJ
That is fantastic work - looking forward to seeing them in action!
ReplyDeleteThanks for popping in and commenting Stryker.
DeleteTake care,
Jeremy
Simply stunning, can't wait to face them on the table!
ReplyDeleteChris
Hi mate!
DeleteI think riding alongside them at Bautzen old chap!
My only fear is the quality of their leadership, Duka too of course ;)
Very nice work Tony. Love how the bronze on the helmets stands out.looking forward to getting back for Bautzen.
ReplyDeleteHi French Tony!
DeleteCatch up soon I hope, be good to have you back.
Cheers,
JJ
Now that's is pure wargaming porn, you should be ashamed of yourself!
ReplyDeleteLove it
JJ
Sorry for such a brazen display JJ! Spare your blushes for another day.
ReplyDeleteGood to see you back here again.
Best wishes,
Jeremy
Congratulations to Tony for his fine brushwork on this unit, getting lots of details dead-on (e.g., no trumpeters on greys for the Russians). I can't tell if he painted the Tsar's monogram in the corners of the shabraques, but they look fabulous individually, and as a unit.
ReplyDeleteThat's serious flattery knowing your work - he'll blush!
DeleteCheers Greystreak, jj
These do look very nice indeed.
ReplyDeleteNice work all round, they certainly make an impressive sight!
ReplyDeleteThey do - 32 of these on the charge could ruin your day!
DeleteLovely looking heavies there. Love the guy in the campaign hat!
ReplyDeleteIt's great isn't it! I wish more manufacturers did some character packs, it just makes a unit pop!
DeleteBest wishes
Jeremy
